Is the Orientation Session the only requirement for working?

No. All poll workers are required by Florida law to attend a minimum of 2-3 hours of hands-on training in addition to an online poll worker training prior to each election. If you do not own a computer, you may use the equipment at our office.  Hours of required training depend on the position you are assigned to work.  Any poll worker not trained before an election is not eligible to work.

What happens after I've attended an Orientation Session?

At the orientation session, you will be asked to complete a more in-depth poll worker application. After you have completed the application, your name will be entered into our active list of prospective poll workers.  Prior to each election, your clerk will call you with your work location and the position you have been assigned.

If I've applied previously as a poll worker, should I apply again?

Yes. Every year we send each poll worker an application that applies to that election cycle. The application gives you the dates of the scheduled elections for that particular year so you can mark your availability for each election.  Should you for some reason not be able to work, we ask that you notify the elections office immediately.
