Logic & Accuracy Testing of the Voting Equipment

Indian River County, FL – The Indian River County Supervisor of Elections Leslie Swan announces the Public Logic and Accuracy test for the voting and tabulation equipment will be conducted on Friday, July 29, 2022, at 8 a.m. at the Indian River County Supervisor of Elections office located at 4375 43rd Ave., Vero Beach 32967.

“The purpose of the public test is to determine that the voting system is properly programmed, the election is correctly defined on the voting system, and that all of the voting system input, output, and communication devices are working properly,” said Supervisor of Elections, Leslie Swan.

Testing requires producing and processing a test deck, which is a set of pre-determined valid votes for each candidate and for each measure, as well as one or more overvoted ballots for each contest. After the test desk has been processed through the tabulation equipment, a comparison is made between the pre-determined test desk results and the tabulator results to ensure that the “expected” vote counts match the actual vote counts.

Upon successful completion of the Logic and Accuracy test, “All voting equipment will be locked and secured with tamper resistant seals for security during transport to the polling locations,” Swan said.
